SUMMARY OF PLANS
As a central, multi-purpose space that our community has used to gather for over 100 years, the Gallatin County Fairgrounds is an important cultural destination and asset for our region. In order to continue holding that honored space in the lives of our community, we’re embarking on a community visioning and master planning process to understand how best to update and utilize this space in perpetuity.

Looking Ahead
In spring of 2024, the Gallatin County Fairgrounds held a
variety of listening sessions to solicit feedback from the public and current Fairgrounds
users on the existing conditions of the facility and opportunities for growth.
The goal of this process was to understand the diverse interests and uses in
order to guide the County and align the community’s values and goals with a
strong vision for future improvements. The responses to the listening sessions,
open house, and online survey represent a diversity of backgrounds and passion
for this public-use space.
The feedback gathered in the feedback document will
inform the future development of the space and programming. Not all of the
visions will be able to fit into these 64 acres, but the Commission and
Fairgrounds staff are working to balance the needs of current users, visions
for future users, and budget to envision a space that will be able to serve the
most people in the best way. This space and the community it serves is special
and there is so much passion surrounding it – upgrading it so that it can meet
the needs of our growing community will require a village and we appreciate you
being a part of that village and checking in on the process.
